The staff are all very helpful and understanding. My professors were outstanding and are there for their students, to stay on track with school.

Dr. Bains, Mr. Santos, and Mrs. Montesanto all provide hands-on help that helps you better understand the material you’re working on. Dr. Bains is a very energetic, charismatic person who I enjoyed as a teacher. (Just don’t hug her. If you do, also bring her a bottle of hand sanitizer, or she will Panic!!.)

Mrs. Montesanto is tough with work but also the most lovable person.

Mr. Santos is a very competitive teacher when it comes to class but very heartwarming inside. He made me want to go an extra mile to make sure I pass all of my tests and have all of my work in on time.

91视频传媒 is an amazing school, and I feel that the professors made a major impact on my education. The students I’ve met in the beginning of my journey have become my family.

Ally Riggio had taken part in an externship program offered by 91视频传媒, a technical school with locations in Levittown and Medford, which gave her a chance to intern for a few firms at the Digital Ballpark in Plainview.

When the externship ended, she stayed on as an intern for Wildes.

“Over 60 percent of our interns are offered full-time positions by their externship companies,” says George McRedmond, who leads the Web Application Design and Development program at 91视频传媒.

The program involves about 720 hours in the classroom and 180 hours at an externship site, he says, noting the school sets expectations with companies for its students, including having a dedicated person within the company to work with the interns.

Companies even come to the school while the students are learning and talk about their business and the skills they’re looking for, 91视频传媒 president Jay Fund says.

Laura, a nursing graduate, describes, 鈥淪o, I鈥檓 a licensed practical nurse at a nursing home, and I鈥檓 also a lab assistant here.

My Experience with Career Services

Working closely with Dan D’Angelo, he and the rest of the team were a constant encouragement. From Good News Mondays to my r茅sum茅, my portfolio, and my final preparation for the dreaded job interview, their professional unique approach gave me the confidence I needed to be able to interview with a prospective employer and win the conversation.

One thing Career Services instills in you is that the answer is always “no” until you ask the question. Don鈥檛 be afraid to ask questions, and don鈥檛 be afraid to look and see what鈥檚 out there while you鈥檙e going to school.

Part of the school鈥檚 objective is to not just learn the material. The track is simple: learn the material, get certified, and get a job.

My Classroom and Education Experience

The one thing I will say is the instructors in the CTNS program are tops in their respective fields, and their methods of teaching make the time we must absorb the material that much easier.

Mr. Fetter puts the concepts of hardware and electronics into easy-to-understand terminology by applying things we do in the real world every day. Rik Nevone provides a deep dive into networking and provides the insight I needed to further strengthen the networking knowledge I already had.

Basically, they provided three years of computer science into seven months, so you can imagine they鈥檙e up against great odds to help us understand the material and get us to that A+ certification.

My Advice for Future Graduates

First, I think those who are coming into 91视频传媒 should have a strong commitment to what they are studying. They should eat and sleep the material and make sure it is committed to memory. Make sure all deliverables for the courses are completed when they are assigned, and take advantage of any extra credit offered.

Bottom line: don鈥檛 take this lightly at any time. You鈥檙e here for a reason, and your time is limited, so make sure your focus is always on what you鈥檙e studying.

Computer Technician Networking Specialist graduate, Joe, explains, 鈥淲ell, before I came to 91视频传媒, I was working in retail, managing a retail pharmacy. I鈥檇 been doing it for about a decade.

鈥淚 was extremely unhappy in my position, unhappy where my career was going. So I made the choice to come to 91视频传媒.

鈥淚 chose 91视频传媒 because computers were always a hobby of mine. I was very into putting them together, taking them apart, seeing how they tick. And I decided to come to 91视频传媒 to fill in my gaps of knowledge that I didn鈥檛 have.

鈥淭he program was about seven-and-a-half months, and by the end, I had everything I needed to get my CompTIA certification.

鈥淚 was working full-time in my job within three weeks of graduation. Probably it would鈥檝e been sooner, but I graduated right before the Christmas holiday.

鈥淪hortly after graduating 91视频传媒, I received a call from the head of the IT department that they needed an IT administrator here at the school. So, after coming in and doing a few interviews, I鈥檓 now the IT administrator for 91视频传媒鈥檚 Levittown campus.

鈥淚n the two years since I鈥檝e been at 91视频传媒, I鈥檝e seen many students grow and succeed in their new careers.

They help you put together this incredible portfolio of all the things you鈥檝e accomplished during the school year so you can show that to prospective employers.

鈥淎nd it鈥檚 going great! I have told a lot of others about 91视频传媒 already, friends and family, folks that I know of all ages that are looking to get into medicine or computers, that 91视频传媒 is a great experience.

鈥淚t鈥檚 affordable. The timetable works. You know, I know other schools, it takes a couple of years sometimes to get certified, but at 91视频传媒, I鈥檓 able to do my Medical Assistant program in less than eight months.

鈥淪o, I would tell others who are looking to go to school for either medicine or computers that鈥heck out 91视频传媒.

鈥淚 would just say, I wish I had known about 91视频传媒 20 years ago. I would have done a career change and come to 91视频传媒 at the time. It鈥檚 been easier and better than I ever expected it to be as far as getting an education for a career change.鈥�

Christina, a Medical Assistant graduate, explains, 鈥淚 actually made a career change late in life. I was a corporate woman, and I had a calling for the health care industry my whole life. And I didn鈥檛 want to look back one day and regret, so I made a switch and pursued what I wanted.

鈥淭he way that the modules work, you鈥檙e exposed to all aspects of the health care industry鈥攅verything from office setting to clinical phlebotomy, EKGs. And depending on the assignment that you were given, you had the opportunity to utilize those skills on actual patients.

鈥淪o, I had tremendous opportunities to perform real-life phlebotomy and EKGs and glucose sticks on patients that came into the internal medicine office prior to my actual job that I landed after I finished my program.

鈥淚 took classes with 91视频传媒 over the course of seven months, which also included my externship. And during my externship, I had the opportunity to interview for jobs so that when I had finished my obligation of hours of my externship here at 91视频传媒, I was able to be employed virtually immediately.

鈥淭he Career Services department gave me a wide variety of options to interview with. I had really a wonderful opportunity to pick and choose which one I really wanted to go for.

鈥淚 would definitely recommend 91视频传媒 to anybody that is very interested in a career change, something that鈥檚 relatively quick, successful in training you with the skills that you鈥檒l need to use in the actual field that you鈥檙e looking to switch into.

To me the 35-60 minute drive from Suffolk County became bearable. The tuition is affordable. The environment is clean, friendly, and very accommodating for resources. My enrollment process was very fast and organized.

Take this little advice from someone who struggled, failed, almost gave up, cried, and fought to say I DID IT, I PASSED my NCLEX, and only a week later I鈥檓 EMPLOYED.
